Speaking of football . . .

Someone new will be doing the Sunday Night Football theme this year. The theme, to the tune of Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You," has been done by Faith Hill for a few years, including one version where if the skirt had been shorter, she'd have been arrested:

Not bad, not bad. But we are getting somebody new this year. Younger, hotter.

Just one more reason to be geeked up about the return of football.

As a little reminder of where they got the tune, feel like I should toss Joan Jett into the mix. Saw her and the Blackhearts in a bar in Rochester, N.Y., the night before Thanksgiving in 1981. I still have a guitar pick -- black, in the shape of a heart, naturally -- from the show. Hitch-hiked up from Virginia Tech to see the show back when you could get away with that.
